The World of Tazzurath
Frostfällt: Land of Ice and Fire
Perched on the frozen northern reaches of Tazzurath, the Imperial Kingdom of Frostfällt stands as a beacon of magical innovation and military might. Home to approximately 1.2 million inhabitants, this arctic kingdom has transformed the harshest climate on the planet into a thriving civilization through discipline, arcane engineering, and pragmatic governance.
Frostfällt is uniquely distinguished as the only nation known to maintain a fully functional þCitadelþ—an ancient megastructure built by the Titans themselves—which serves as both fortress and refuge for the kingdom. The capital city, Schneefällt, is a breathtaking metropolis of ice and stone, carved into multiple levels with crystalline towers that refract enchanted light into prismatic displays. Advanced magical infrastructure, including "The Thread" (an arcane Wi-Fi system), Rune-Forges for heating, and enchanted greenhouses for year-round agriculture, enable survival in conditions where temperatures plummet to lethal levels and snowfall reaches 50 feet during deep winter.
Governed by a military monarchy with a Council of Generals representing the kingdom's eleven states, Frostfällt combines strict hierarchical control with surprising social progressivism. The nation is renowned for its unprecedented acceptance of supernatural creatures—vampires, werewolves, and liches enjoy full citizenship rights and operate Blood Banks and Shift-Cages as integrated government systems.
The kingdom's economy thrives on exceptional craftsmanship, particularly in metalworking, enchanting, and runic magic. Frostfällt's weapons, armor, and magical artifacts command premium prices across the known world. With a reputation for uncompromising quality and innovation, Frostfällt remains a model of how civilization can not only survive but flourish in the most forbidding environments.
The Falmathion Union: Realm of the Twelve
Founded by dragons as an attempt at a perfect draconic civilization, Falmathion is a realm of volcanic plateaus, steaming jungles, arcane abundance, and relentless political division. The hereditary Council of Twelve grants equal power to Metallic, Chromatic, and Gem Dragon Lords who possess tremendous individual authority but rarely agree on lasting change.
Above the mining city of Wittnausen floats Oxyhold, a chain-bound capital raised from an ancient Titan Citadel by the sacrifice of the Last Celestial Dragon. Its brilliant plazas, magical baths, sorcerous colleges, and grand archives project utopian perfection, while rural communities endure inequality, forced service, unstable laws, and draconic feuds.
Falmathion is currently at war with Balthimore over celestial dragon bones believed to belong to Grandal. The conflict has expanded beyond the disputed relic into an increasingly open campaign of conquest, drawing Frostfällt, Halfor, Grobion, and other powers into the struggle.
The Crowned Realm of Balthimore
The Crowned Realm of Balthimore stretches from prosperous western coasts across the deadly Crownspine to a devastated eastern frontier. Nearly three million humans, elves, and citizens of many other peoples share a kingdom renowned for courtly ceremony, tournament knights, beautiful furniture, and ingenious mechanical comforts.
King Edric Balthimore rules from the coastal capital of Eschbron, while his son Isaac leads the eastern defense in the War of the Forgotten Bones. Falmathian forces hold a celestial draconic skeleton and surrounding territory, and Balthimore's coalition is slowly losing ground toward the mountains.
In the west, gold-and-crimson banners still fly above festivals, workshops, and noble estates. In the east, elected frontier communities and exhausted armies struggle to keep Bruxlee from falling. The Crownspine separates these two experiences of the same realm—and may soon become the line both must defend together.
